Vaad Mishmeres Mitzvos is an organization that supports scholars who study Torah (Jewish Law) on a full-time basis, and who do not consequently have other income.

About the OSPCA:

About the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada:

The mission of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada is: To be a leader in finding a cure for multiple sclerosis and enabling people affected by MS to enhance their quality of life.

Since our founding in 1948, the core support of the MS Society has been from tens of thousands of dedicated individuals, companies and foundations in communities across Canada. The Society receives almost no funding from government.

The MS Society of Canada has a membership of 28,000. It is the only national voluntary organization in Canada that supports both MS research and services for people with MS and their families. About IFAW:

From the outset, the founders of the International Fund for Animal Welfare, or IFAW, rejected the notion that the interests of humans and animals were separate. Instead they embraced the understanding that the fate and future of harp seals-and all other animals on Earth-are inextricably linked to our own.

IFAW’s courageous actions drew international attention to the plight of the seal pups and successfully rallied worldwide condemnation of the hunt. Thanks to IFAW’s continued vigilance, it is now illegal to hunt whitecoat seal pups for commercial purposes on the ice floes off Canada’s east coast. This is a fragile victory, however, for Canada’s commercial seal hunt persists. IFAW continues to document and expose abuses of the commercial hunt and press for an end to this cruel, unsustainable slaughter. About the Canadian Burn Foundation:

The Canadian Burn Foundation (CBF) was founded in 1998. Our goal is to provide programs and support for burn survivors across Canada and around the world.

Each year, thousands of Canadians are seriously burned.

-In North America, a child is burned every 7.5 minutes in the home by a hot liquid.
-Incidence of serious burn injury for children in developing countries is significantly higher. One of our primary goals is to drastically reduce these figures. We work to achieve this goal through ongoing education and prevention programs that are available free of charge.

Before 1980, few serious burn victims survived their accidents. Medical advances have made it possible, even for a person with over 90% of their body burned, to survive. CBF continues to work with burn survivors and their families to enable them to live life as best they can under their challenging circumstances.

CBF provides new or refurbished computers to adult and child burn survivors, enabling them to access the internet to connect with friends and other burn survivors. We also provide financial support to make it possible for adult and child burn survivors to attend burn camps, retreats and conferences.

CBF is actively engaged in international development, sharing our knowledge and assisting countries including South Africa and China in developing successful support programs. Through our international efforts, we aim to make the world a better place for burn survivors.

It’s a time where local heroes unite with legendary NHL players to bring the community together and entertain them with a good old fashioned hockey game. It’s a game where the score never really matters, and the real winners are always the beneficiaries that are helped from the proceeds.

While winning is always nice, it is not the motivating factor behind Battle of the Badges. Instead, the true goal when the players hit the ice is to raise money for worthy local causes and provide the fans with a memorable game.
